The industry partner provides critical insight into the kinds of employees and skills they most value. Based on its business projections for areas of need and growth, the industry partner works closely with the college, the high school leader, and school faculty to identify the Associate Degree(s) and high school academic sequence that best provide the foundational skills for the industry’s high-demand careers.
In addition, the industry partner play an important role in giving students exposure to the world of work through site visits, job shadowing, career panels and guest speaking, mentorships, and hosting student interns.
The NYC P-TECH model provides an exciting opportunity for industry partners to have an in-depth collaboration with a public school that both benefits the community and helps companies be intimately involved in growing their future workforce and consumers.
